The Washington Business Journal recently ran this article about the Northgate project, which is still on track for groundbreaking this spring. It will be located within half a mile from the East Falls Church Metro stop at 450 N. Washington St., and will replace a long-closed funeral home.

The project will include apartments, townhomes, retail, and office space. In other words, mixed-use. It will also have plenty of parking and a green roof — following the City’s requirement for building green.

I won’t call it a done deal until the 20-month construction is done, and I don’t have any insider info other that the WBJ article (if you have some, please share!), but I’m optimistic that this will come together and the City of Falls Church will continue to make progress even in a tough economy.
